Job Title: Senior Manager, Data Architecture
Location: Brea, CA (Relocating to Irvine, CA near Spectrum) – Hybrid, 3+ days onsite per week preferred
Salary Range: $155,000 – $200,000/year + 15% bonus target
Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Data Architecture to join our growing team in a newly created leadership role. As a strategic partner to the Director of Data & Analytics, you’ll serve as her right-hand in building and scaling the data platform, leading architecture design, platform stability, and future-state planning. This is a key role with people leadership, technical depth, and cross-functional influence.
You’ll manage a small but growing team (2 direct reports) and oversee vendor and offshore team collaboration using a pod delivery model. You’ll drive process improvements, establish best practices, and set the vision for the data architecture function in a professional, process-driven, and highly collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & People Management
Develop and lead a high-performing data architecture team, mentoring and fostering a culture of continuous learning and career growth.
Manage onshore and offshore resources and lead vendor partnerships. - Technical Architecture & Governance
Own and evolve the data architecture across all platform phases—design, implementation, and support.
Ensure best practices in architecture, metadata, data lineage, cataloging, and governance.
Maintain and enhance the current Data & Analytics environment for scalability and stability. - Cross-functional Partnership
Partner with Application Development and Infrastructure teams to align technology and business needs.
Work closely with executives and business stakeholders to translate business needs into data strategies.
Help define enterprise data strategies, principles, and roadmaps for long-term success. - Innovation & Process Improvement
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks, especially in cloud and data platforms.
Promote a learning mindset within the team and stay up-to-date with evolving data trends.
Lead the design of data models supporting BI, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Industry Background (Preferred):
- Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), manufacturing, or enterprise cloud migration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent experience
- 12–16 years of experience delivering scalable, secure, and highly available data platform solutions
- 10+ years designing and maintaining data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, Databricks (plus)
- 10+ years of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse (BI/DW) leadership across major development projects
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy
- 5+ years leading distributed teams across large-scale data initiatives
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of Data Warehousing (star schemas, OLAP, metadata, cubes)
- Data Modeling using tools like ERWin, Oracle Designer, etc.
- Cloud and database proficiency (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, Db2, MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience managing data pipelines (API, ETL/ELT, DBT, Informatica, MuleSoft)
- Proficient in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker)
- Strong grasp of data governance, security, and architectural standards
- Effective communicator capable of translating technical concepts to business leaders
